The Newberg Soccer Club (NSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to player education that prepares youth for success in soccer as well as civility in their community. Our Classic Soccer provides boys and girls with a quality of coaching and competitive play that far exceed what can be offered in a recreational program.   Under the direction of Head Coach, Hans Schneiter, all of our 2007 Classic teams qualified for Division One, the highest level of competitive play below Premier.

Recreational Programs for younger children and older adults are available seasonally. Watch menu bar for winter and spring offerings. Recreational Fall-Ball is provided by CPRD, see address above.

Our competitive summer/fall teams are for 10-14 year olds. Tryouts (click here for details) take place on May 4th. As a step up from the recreational programs in Newberg, our competitive teams are a great option for boys and girls with a passion for playing soccer and a desire to continue building their skill base in the context of fun team play. This competitive program differs from recreational programs in the following ways:

  • Longer Soccer Season June through October with progressive training
  • More League Games Fourteen games from September to Mid-October plus 2-3 tournaments
  • Higher Level of Competition where teams are matched with other teams of similar ability, scores are kept and standings adjusted regularly.
  • Referees who are licensed, experienced and well-paid
  • Similarly Skilled Peers with a like-minded passion for soccer and a desire to stay together.
  • Licensed, Experienced and Paid Coaches (USSF trained) who teach soccer skills, team-work, and also demonstrate character within the community.
  • A Nurturing Soccer Community of parents, sponsors, and past players who still enjoy playing and/or volunteering simply for the love of the game and the people who play it.
  • Benefits of OYSA Membership such as insurance, scholarship application for college, access to excellent coach and player clinics as well as the Olympic Development Program (ODP).
  • A Chance to Give Back to the community through our many Outreach Programs.

In summary, our teams enable youth to connect with a coach of positive moral character while they develop team camaraderie, skill, self-discipline and competitive spirit beyond what can be accomplished in a short recreational season with random parent/coaches.
