Community Building Programs

The Club is part of a broader soccer community that exists within Newberg and extends globally. Within Newberg, the recreational program of CPRD feeds our competitive program which prepares players for competition in local high schools which feed into George Fox University. Our membership in Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA) further connects us with USSF and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The Newberg Soccer Club fosters unity among these entities with the following:

COMMUNITY SERVICE: Each year our teams participate in Community Service Projects. The community supports our youth players and this is an excellent way for our children to give back. Examples would include Love INC projects and helping at the Old Fashioned Festival.

RESPONSIBLE SPORT PARENTING involves the following:

  • Staying informed (Club Handbook - coming soon)
  • Anticipating the rough spots (Transition from Recreational Soccer)
  • Letting the athlete own his learning opportunities / dilemmas (Responsible Sports)
  • Knowing where to turn when you need special help (Valley Psychological Associates)

TIMBERS’ NIGHTS: We encourage our teams to watch high level soccer.

COED ADOLESCENT - ADULT INDOOR SOCCER: For beginners and soccer-veterans, this league is designed to promote understanding of the game and connections between adolescents and adults, parents and coaches, businesses and teams.

SOCCER IN THE PARK (SIP): Like a soccer festival this April program helps young players (K-3rd) and their families fall in love with the game by playing with NSC players, high school players, GFU players, and NSC and CPRD coaches. Competition and structure are kept low key.  More information can be found here.

ARTIFICIAL TURF AT NEWBERG HIGH SCHOOL: We received a $50,000 matching grant from A-dec, which we donated to the NHS Booster Club. NSC performed its own fundraising to help with matching funds. You can make donations directly to the booster club.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM: By selling four levels of advertising, we are able to keep player fees lower than most clubs.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: This allows us to develop players from all income levels. Partial assistance is awarded to families that qualify.
