Skill Development U8-U14

Designed to promote soccer skills and a love for the game, these twice a week trainings are led by experts* and open to players from Competitive Teams as well as other motivated players who are interested in transitioning to the club. (*See coaching staff listed online.)

FUTSAL (Winter, U8-U14) Information flyer: Futsal Info  What makes Futsal different from soccer? Players keep the ball close to their feet and they keep it moving. Comfort with the ball and quick decision making are increased. The ball is smaller and not intended to bounce. Local gymnasiums are used but no walls are used. The short pass and team work are heavily emphasized. This is a possession game. Training includes instruction, practice, and small games.

SPRING ACADEMY (April, U11-U14) Informational flyer:  Spring Soccer Academy
This PDP is designed for the player who is serious about learning ball skills. Our head coach has designed it to be a fun eight days of gaming and training to help youth sharpen their skills before tryouts, meet coaches, or consider the transition to competitive soccer. Player to Coach ratio is held at approximately 8:1. Training includes fun, instruction, practice & small games.

SUMMER PDP (June-July, U8-U14) Informational flyer:  Summer PDP     Jeff Lim's website: http://www.hawkssoccer.com/index.html
Operating during the same months in which our most competitive teams begin their practices, this PDP traines players according to skill level. Participants enjoy instruction, practice, and small games lead by a noted expert. This PDP serves several needs.
- First, players who desire training in addition to their team practice can work on specifics.
- Second, youth who did not qualify for participation on a competitive team can still find expert instruction and development while
they wait for the next recreational season.
- Third, this training is viewed as a Newberg Farm League from which participants might be invited to Guest Play on a NSC team.
